About the Artist
Website

Back by popular demand after performing for the Steinway Society in November 2012, *Ann Schein* has had a long and distinguished career as a concert pianist and master teacher.

Her teachers include legendary pianist Artur Rubinstein. From 1980 to 2000, she served on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Various commercial recordings from the 1950s to the present have been treasured by piano connoisseurs.

In 1980, she performed, in six recitals, all of Chopin’s piano works in New York’s Avery Fisher Hall. She has performed with conductors including George Szell, James Levine, Seiji Ozawa, James dePreist, David Zinman, Stanislaw Skrowacewski, and Sir Colin Davis, and with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Baltimore Symphony, the Washington National Symphony, the London Philharmonic, the London Symphony, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She has performed at the White House during the Kennedy administration, and accompanied the soprano Jessye Norman in recital on numerous occasions.
