Praised by The New York Times for his “clarity, elegance and abundant technique,” and by The Washington Post as a young artist with “boundless potential,” pianist Aristo Sham has performed on five continents and was featured in Channel 4’s 2009 documentary The World’s Greatest Musical Prodigies.

He has played for dignitaries including King Charles, the Queen of Belgium, and former President Hu of China, and collaborated with major orchestras such as the London Symphony under Sir Simon Rattle, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, and the Minnesota Orchestra.

Aristo gained early international acclaim with First Prizes at the Ettlingen (2006) and Gina Bachauer (2008) competitions. In 2023, he won the Grand Prix at the Monte-Carlo Music Masters, and has received top prizes at numerous international competitions including Young Concert Artists, Casagrande, Clara Haskil, and Verbier’s Vendome Prize.

A Harvard graduate in Economics, Aristo also holds a Master’s in Piano Performance from NEC and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at Juilliard. His teachers include Eleanor Wong, Colin Stone, and Victor Rosenbaum, and he has been mentored by Gabriela Montero. Outside of music, he enjoys travel, languages, gastronomy, and oenology.
