About Us
Steinway Society is recognized as one of the gems of Bay Area cultural life.
Steinway Society – The Bay Area is a non-profit organization that presents and promotes excellence in classical piano performance. Now in its 30th season, this team of musicians, pianists, teachers, and arts lovers hosts a series of classical piano concerts featuring world-class, internationally recognized pianists in Silicon Valley, the Peninsula, and the South Bay. We also offer in-home recitals and engage in community outreach to enrich the local music scene.
Much of the joy of Steinway Society concerts comes from their intimate setting, allowing for rich enjoyment of the musical experience.
In addition to presenting international pianists whom you would otherwise have to travel great distances to hear, we strive to create special opportunities for our patrons. At many of our concerts, we feature a post-concert Meet the Artist session where the artist signs autographs, poses for pictures, and interacts with patrons. Each season, we host one or more In-Home Salons with select international artists to raise funds and provide a behind-the-scenes experience with the artist. The salons are open first to existing donors and subscribers, and as space allows, to all patrons.
