Dear Friend of Steinway Society,
Welcome to our 26th season.
Last season’s closing months brought severe challenges to Steinway Society and other arts organizations, and to all supporters of the arts. We appreciate the understanding you have shown us through this unprecedented time. We hope you will join Steinway Society as we move into new and unique methods of delivering outstanding performances of cherished, great music.
Steinway Society board members have arranged unique video performances of this season’s artists to bring these performers directly into your living room. All are sure to be delightful musical experiences, showcasing the same brilliant and virtuosic musicianship that our Artistic Committee, Nancy Daggett Jensen and Donald Wright, have brought us in past years.
The season opens in October with Federico Colli, followed by Zlata Chochieva in November. We’re also welcoming back to our stage Vyacheslav Gryaznov in December, along with several new artists. Some of these names may be new to you, but each is high profile on the international scene.
Last season, we were on schedule to deliver performances in San Jose Title 1 schools to almost 4,000 students, but COVID-19 cut our efforts short. We are exploring virtual outreach options and plan to resume in-person events as soon as it is safe to again share the timeless joys, exhilaration, and relevance of classical music to today’s fast-paced world.
Thank you for your tax-deductible gifts and continued involvement. We depend on you now more than ever. I sincerely hope that in your charitable and arts giving, you will continue to remember us. We rely on and greatly appreciate your support–just as we know that you cherish these life-enriching classical performances by world-class pianists.
While Steinway Society misses seeing everyone in person, your health and safety are our biggest concerns. Stay safe and be well.
Kathy You Wilson, President
